Face Tanner Troubleshooting

Each Face Tanner is fully tested before it leaves thefactory. This helps to ensure care-free operation. Occasionally, however, things happen. Use this troubleshooting guide to assist you before you phone tech support.

Please note: all maintenance should be preformed with the Face Tanner unit OFF and UNPLUGGED!

Problem	Solution
The Face Tanner does not light.	If none of the lamps light, then there may be a problem with your power source. Try plugging the Face Tanner into another outlet. If the unit will not work in ANY outlet, be sure that you are using the spring-wound timer at the side of the unit correctly. See your owners manual for details. Be sure that you can hear a "clicking" as the timer counts down. If the Face Tanner fails to work after these attempts, please review your warranty below.
One or more lamps will not light.	If one lamp does not work, then there may be a problem with the lamp or the starter. Follow these directions for repair: With the unit unplugged, twist the lamp in question. If it feels loose, then it may have come loose from the lamp holder. Unscrew the FOUR screws on the back of the Face Tanner (two at the top, two at the bottom). This will open the unit case. Check to see if each lamp is securely in its lamp holder. Secure any loose lamps and test unit. If the lamp still does not light after securing loose lamps, the problem may be a starter. A starter is a small cylinder located on the back of the unit. Twist out the starter that corresponds to the faulty lamp. Swap this starter with another starter in a "good" position and test the unit. If the new position does not light, then the problem is with the starter. SEE BELOW TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL STARTERS. If the problem did not "move" with the starter, then the next step is to check the lamp. Remove it from its lamp holder, and swap it with a lamp that you know works. If the problem "moves" with the lamp, then you need a new lamp. SEE OUR ACCESSORIES PAGE TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL LAMPS. If the problem did not "move" with swapping the starter OR the lamp, then the problem is internal to the Face Tanner. Consult the warranty below.
Face Tanner Warranty	The Face Tanners carry a 90 Day limited warranty on all factory parts, excluding lamps and starters. This guarantee does not cover damages resulting from shipping, user neglect, or any activity other than described in the instructions. If complete failure of operation is determined to have been caused by factory error, a replacement will be effected by the US service office within 7 working days after return of the defective unit. All shipping will be conducted via UPS Ground, only as authorized by the US Service office. This warranty is limited to the original purchaser.
