This
page is excerpted from the manual you will receive when you buy
the unit.
The length of your tanning sessions will
depend on your particular skin type and your prior exposure to
the sun or other UVA tanning sources. Always wear protective
eyewear (one pair is shipped with each unit). Ten sunbaths in a
row make up a normal tanning cycle; the length of the individual
sessiosn should be selected in accordance with the table below.
Then take a break for about 4 weeks.
Do not attempt to achieve a quicker tan by
extending the length of tanning treatments. If you feel your
skin is tight and reddened, you should reduce your tanning time
by at least five minutes and tan only on alternate days.
It is not possible to get a deeper tan than
what is possible in the sun at ideal conditions; your skin type
is what ultimately determines the degree of tan which you will
ultimately achieve. It is quite natural for fair skinned people
not to achieve any significant tan. If you cannot tan in the sun
then you won't tan with a sunlamp.

Setting up and
Operation
-
Place the
HT420 on a stable surface (usually a table). Connect it to a
120V power source.
-
The length of
the tanning session is set at the electromechanical timer by
rotating the knob. The HT420 turns on automatically when this
knob is set
-
IMPORTANT: The
light will not light when the lamp is hot. Allow it to cool for
three or four minutes before attempting to restart.
-
Assume a
comfortable position after setting the proper time.
-
Your face
should be about 8 (eight) inches (20 cm) from the lamp when
tanning. A shorter or longer distance will result in a shorter
or longer tanning periods. You may select the distance you
prefer, remembering that the distance will affect tanning
intensity.
-
Tanning the
upper body will will require a distance of about 20 inches (50
cm); the light then will cover an area from your head to your
waist on the average person.
-
Tanning begins
once you have set the time. The UV lamp takes about three
minutes to reach full power. OBSERVE THE TANNING INSTRUCTIONS.
